SheroesCentral.com is about female heroes, "Sheroes",
of every age, race, and country.
Here, we discuss women and girls who get out there and do it, females who kick butt and take no prisoners,
role models who inspire women and men, girls and boys. (In other words, guys are welcome,
too.)
Everyone here is encouraged to express opinions, ideas, and feelings regardless of age.
Too often, teens and young people are ignored or deliberately silenced because they have
not achieved an age that those around them feel entitles them to be heard. On Sheroes age
is not a factor. Here, your opinions count. Adult, teen, or child, you will be heard with respect.
SheroesCentral is a place for us to talk about everything - about
sheroes, about history, about books and movies and plays we've been to
see. We're a community here, where the members care about what's in the
newspapers and what happens in the world all around them. We're silly
and serious, sad and happy all in turn. Be honest, be funny, be sad, be
yourselves.
From time to time, someone posts something that we wish wasn't true. Sometimes these things are better dealt with by trained professionals, or at least by folk who have the right information for the relevant location at their fingertips. To this end, here is a list of hotlines for various parts of the world. It's heavily under construction, so data may not be available for your area. If you know of some useful information for an area not listed, please email us.

As of May 3, 2006, Sheroes Central, www.sheroescentral.com, and the messageboard thereon are no longer owned or managed by Tamora Pierce or Tamora Pierce, LLC. While she retains her membership as a regular member of the board, she is no longer a member of any administrative team for this site, nor is she a member of the Board of Directors of Sheroes, Inc.
Ownership and management has been transferred in its entirety to Sheroes, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation. The Board of Directors of Sheroes, Inc. wishes to thank Tammy for her selfless donation of time and money that allowed Sheroes Central to come into being and to serve the more than 6000 members that have wandered through its pages.
We hope and expect to continue Sheroes, in the spirit of its creation by Tammy and Meggin Cabot, for many years to come. In the near future, there will be a chance to ask questions about what this change means. We expect that this change will not seriously affect the members of Sheroes Central. For the moment, please be patient while we finish shaking out the details.
