The meeting was held yesterday, May 12. I was not able to attend unfortunately, but I have attached a summary of the meeting as written by EL and posted on Nightingale's Lamp, for those non-NL members of Sheroes who would like to be kept up-to-date on BoD decisions. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns for future meetings.

The meeting took place yesterday, 12 May 2012.

Six voting members were present: Rebecca Slingwine/"Fancci" (Chair); Elizabeth Lovance (Treasurer); Genevieve Noyce/"Gennie" (Secretary); Mika Gustavson; Christin Devonshire/"Kiragen" (Admin representative); and myself (NL representative).

Additionally, Rachel Giesbers/"Ratesjul" (Lead Admin) was present in an observing capacity.

Not present were Leslie Forstadt and Jill Wishart/"DoMo" (Sheroes representative).

NL Report: There was nothing to report from NL.

Sheroes Report: There was one request from a forum user that future "Starfest" threads include trigger warnings due to discussions of alcohol use. The BoD expressed general support of this but agreed that it was an issue for moderators to handle. Christin and Rachel G. agreed.

Treasury report: Elizabeth stated that when she filed taxes for Sheroes, Inc this year she discovered that its legal status as a non-profit had lapsed. She is in the process of obtaining and filling out the forms necessary to re-establish our non-profit status, with help from Josh Shaine. After that paperwork is filed the matter should be resolved.

Separately, Elizabeth reported that there have also been some hassles with getting the Sheroes, Inc bank account information and the billing information from our server sent to her rather than to the previous treasurer (Genevieve), but Elizabeth and Genevieve are working together to sort it out.

Other:
- There was an enquiry from Rachel G. about whether people were generally happy with the continued "pending decision" status of the hidden "Our Bodies" forum on Sheroes, whose existence has officially been pending admin review since last July. After some discussion it was agreed that a decision was necessary, and it was then decided that the forum would be closed after a public announcement suggesting that people apply to NL if they wished to continue conversations of the sort encouraged by the "Our Bodies" forum.

- It was noted that traffic to the forums has continued to be generally slow. Last summer a committee had been formed to discuss the purpose and reorganization of Sheroes and how best to recruit new members, but the committee has been largely dormant since last fall. Rebecca volunteered to brainstorm recruitment ideas in the coming weeks, and Rachel G. and Christin expressed a renewed commitment to participating in the committee discussions.

- We tentatively agreed to schedule the next meeting for a Saturday in late June or early July.

I'm glad that a decision has finally been made. This decision should have been made sooner (IMOP), either way, as the status of the board (for myself) inhibited posting.

May I suggest that since it's to be closed, have it move with the other forums to 'Hibernation Station', rather then merged with Interfaith/Interculture, as was originally planned.

also if some one would make buttons, or some image we could link from in our websites, I would totally grab one, as a visible way to support the site.
and for other fund raising, well I know the T-shirts didn't go very far, but (without any polling) maybe desk-top backgrounds or something like that.

Looking at the forum, it appears to actually have already been moved (into the Hibernation forum).

Would you - or anyone else - be able/willing to design either buttons or desktop backgrounds? I think the reason the T-shirts idea fell through was that no one submitted any designs.

If we could get someone to design them, though, I think they would be a great thing to have.

While we're dreaming, a distinctive logo would be really great, too...
