#21007, "Neal the Daffodil!"

*grin* I'm rereading my PotS books, and I found this passage, which I think is amazingly great!! It's in Page on p. 173 (in the paperback)

"What was that about?" Neal demanded.

Kel Turned. All of her friends were arrayed at her back. "He says he's changed."

"I suppose he could have changed," Neal said dryly. "I myself have noticed my growing resemblance to a daffodil." The other pages snorted.

Kel eyed her friend. "You do look yellow around the edges," she told him, her face quite serious. "I hadn't wanted to bring it up."

"We daffodils like to have things brought up," Neal said, slinging an arm around her shoulders. "It reminds us of spring."

"Does dung remind you of spring, too, Princess Flower?" Cleon demanded irritably.

(some random stuff cut out b/c I dun feel like typing it all)

Kel peeled Neal's arm away. "Thanks, but no thanks," She told him, "I don't want to crush your petals."

Good graphic, by the way. I think my laughing at it woke up the neighbors.

*grins* That's a funny passage...no, Tammy, you're not a loseroid! Ooh, another word to add to my dictionary of Words-that-aren't-really-words-but-are-cool-anyway...I already have mogies (my brother's word for skiing moguls), mini-mitts (speaks for itself), under-thighs (don't even ask), kvetch (Tim's word) and now loseroid!

>>KVETCH?? What on earth?

To grouse or complain.

We are New York artistic types, which means that Yiddish is our second language. I'm surprised Tim hasn't used "kvell," which is one of his favorites--it translates as "thrill."

oh, that's one of my favourite parts of that book! I LOVE it...it's just so funny!

And...and...the picture of the daffodil man is hilarious! Though I didn't picture Neal that way. But it's funny!
