#613, "Lady Nights ending"

I would first like to say that Tamora Pierce has given myself and and many other young people out there a wonderful set of storys to read. As you can tell I am Ami and my favorite character out of Lady Knight next the obviouse is Dom. I really think he is cute. I would like it is Tamora wrote another set of books for us adoring fans. But if she doesn't I would really apreciate it if she wrote a small booklet of what happens to the characters that I have grown up with and fallen in love with. If you think I am wrong for wanting to know what happens to the characters whom I feel so connected to then tell me and I will keep my mouth shut... Other than that I would like to express my dearest hope that Tamora continues with her amazing stle of writing and the wonderful kingdom of Tortall.
Ami:)

In other word we die hard fans need something to settle our scrambled brains!!! Help

there is going to be the 2 books about Alianee, Alannas daughter, where she dyes her hair blue and gets captured by Carthaki slave traders, and, theres going to be the Provosts Dog triad, set 200 years before alanna, about a police-woman-mage in the service of the Provost. And there is the possibility of a book or two...or three.... about Numair at carthak etc. um..thats bout it for totall except maybe the vauge possibility of a book about Maura of dunlath.
Cheers!

>thats bout it for totall except maybe the vauge possibility of a book about Maura of dunlath.

Actually, it's one book about Numair and one about Maura, both already contracted for, not possibilities.

And considering how I've got requests beyond these books for Eda Bell as a girl, Neal's daughter, Kel and a girl squire, Qiom the tree man and Fadal (from the "Elder Brother" story in HALF HUMAN), something with Owen, something with Irnai the seer girl, Daine and Numair in Tyra (though that might be just a short story), books about Dom . . .

I'll probably think of something once this contract (which runs through 2009) is done. Or several somethings.

And this doesn't even include what people will want to see once I have the current books written!

Well, you think so, and I think so, and Tammy's editor Mallory thinks so...the only person who's not so sure is Tammy, b/c she'd have to write it! <g>

True, but a collection of Tortallan Tales would be very much appreciated by her fans, even if they weren't published on paper. At least a few spoilers about things like this would be incredibly helpful, but Tammy, if you're reading this, know that you definately have support. And, if you get sick of writing Shatterglass or the Alianne books, you have something else you could pick up and write until you get sick of that.

Just a suggestion.

TOTALLY!!! Neal is the coolest. I'd like to see how his daughter turns out. However, there is one small problem- Jon and Alanna would be about 10-15 years older. Very freaky when you've known both of them since their teens. Maybe in a couple more series'... anyways, i'd like to meet Alanna's daughter Aliane (Alianna?) and maybe more about Kally.

That might get boring for us as readers and tammy as a writer.

She'd be writing the same story twice, maybe three times.

There is such a thing as to much of a good thing.

Right. I think if she writes anything about Tortall when Neal's daugter is in training that that should not be the focus. An example: some other character can see her or talk about the knights in training. Another Knight story though?

Good idea Lucy. I have an idea Tammy! You can write the story about a Shang girl in training and have her somehow meet Neal's daughter.

Tammy could write for years and years and never write all the storyies her fans have proposed though. But I trust her good judgment to pick the best ones and write the best stories from them.

Nope. If I do it, it will be *only* because I've found ways to make each story different. I do NOT want to end up repeating myself. Ever.

Tammy meant that she would never write stories that were repetitive, she would always make them different from each other significantly. Because everybody was saying how she should write more books about girls becoming knights. I'm glad about this. I personally would like to see more books about people who aren't knights (like Shang!) or books set in other countries.

I think it'd be kinda cool, and Tammy's written two books with Lady Knights that are totally different, so I'm sure she could write a third. I do like the Shang idea though...

This is actually a response, but it's based on spoiler-y stuff (for LADY KNIGHT, just so nobody gets spoiled), so it's in white. Highlight to read.

Neal's daughter: "Daddy, Daddy, I wanna be a knight like Auntie Kel!"

Neal glares at Kel. "See how you're influencing my daughter?!"

I still want to know what happens to Kel---and Dom. I mean, it's a bummer that nothing happened with Kel and Cleon, but why couldn't there have been a little something else? Dom was adorable!!

I love how everyone loves these books as much as I do. Women feel so much stronger when other talented women like Tammy write these great books which we can all cling to. I love dom as you can probly tell. I really think that Kel and him would be perfict. They are good together. Even after so long of not seeing him she still has butterflies when she sees him and they both respect each other. They both fight for what they belive in and they can talk about things. A bonus is he is not formaly engaged like Cleon, or not to my knowlege and I have read all the Protector of the Small books over about five times each including the Lady Knight. I am horrible I bought it the day it cam out the moment the book store opened and had it finished by one in the morning the next day. I have only read that one two and a half times though. Thanks for all your responses no pressure on Tammy I am so happy just to have the books she has already written. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be so cool!!! And if the girl-becomes-a-knight story is too repetitive, it could be from Neal's or Yuki's point of view! Just so we could see Neal freak out and worry about his daughter, of course!

By the way, did anyone else think that Neal was....different in Lady Knight? He just didn't seem like himself, more serious, responsible, or somber...probably because he missed Yuki.

I think that Neal did grow up a bit, and not just because he missed Yuki. Having to heal victims of a war and seeing people die almost on a daily basis does make a person a bit more somber. Oh, and on a random note, Dom is PERFECT for Kel!!! hahahahaha, okay, I'm done.

Even before Neal had to heal all the war victims though, he seemed different.

I was a BIG fan of Cleon, but as soon as Kel didn't feel anything towards him my crush dropped! Now I really like Dom. I hope that at the end of hopefully some upcoming book the main character will go to kel's &dom's weddin

I'm still sorry she didn't end up with Neal, but Dom's my second choice, so life is good.

They are perfect for each other. They both fight well, they both listen to each other, and he knows how she thinks which is what she needs in a guy. Oh don't forget the fact that she still thinks he is the cutest guy in her group of friends. Wait a darn second never mind I want him, but I want kel to have him but then again I want him... Oh I can't make up my mind!!! Curses like a soldier.... then bangs head againt the wall where there is a painted sign saying "Smash head here"---> *
