SheroesCentral.com is about female heroes, "Sheroes",
of every age, race, and country.
Here, we discuss women and girls who get out there and do it, females who kick butt and take no prisoners,
role models who inspire women and men, girls and boys. (In other words, guys are welcome,
too.)
Everyone here is encouraged to express opinions, ideas, and feelings regardless of age.
Too often, teens and young people are ignored or deliberately silenced because they have
not achieved an age that those around them feel entitles them to be heard. On Sheroes age
is not a factor. Here, your opinions count. Adult, teen, or child, you will be heard with respect.
SheroesCentral is a place for us to talk about everything - about
sheroes, about history, about books and movies and plays we've been to
see. We're a community here, where the members care about what's in the
newspapers and what happens in the world all around them. We're silly
and serious, sad and happy all in turn. Be honest, be funny, be sad, be
yourselves.
From time to time, someone posts something that we wish wasn't true. Sometimes these things are better dealt with by trained professionals, or at least by folk who have the right information for the relevant location at their fingertips. To this end, here is a list of hotlines for various parts of the world. It's heavily under construction, so data may not be available for your area. If you know of some useful information for an area not listed, please email us.
Sheroes Central, also known as sheroescentral.com, is
owned and maintained by Sheroes, Inc., a not for profit corporation
incorporated under the laws of New Hampshire.
It was acquired on May 3, 2006, from Tamora Pierce, LLC. Sheroes,
Inc. and the staff and members of Sheroes Central continue to be
grateful to Tammy, Sheroes Central's founder, for her years of
guidance and support, as well as to her co-founder, Meggin Cabot.
